Align & Slide – Vertex Alignment for Blender
Short Description:
The perfect add-on for fast and precise modeling in Blender! Align selected vertices along a plane (X, Y, or Z) and slide them along connected edges while preserving natural topology. Efficient, quick, and intuitive.
Full Description:
Align & Slide allows you to easily and accurately align vertices in Edit Mode without breaking their connections to other vertices. Its functionality is similar to Axis Constraint in 3ds Max and Maya, but fully integrated into Blender.
Key Features:
- Align vertices along the chosen axis: X, Y, or Z with sliding along connected edges to preserve natural topology.
-
Two plane determination modes:
- Median – aligns based on the average position of selected vertices.
- Active – aligns relative to the active vertex.
- Slide to Unselected – when enabled, vertices slide only toward unselected neighboring vertices, keeping the existing topology intact.
How to Use:
- Select the vertices or faces you want to align.
- Press Alt + 1 for quick activation of the add-on.
- Choose the desired axis for alignment and the preferred mode (Median or Active).
- Enable Slide to Unselected if you want to preserve the topology.
Who is this Add-on for:
- 3D modelers and artists working with organic or technical meshes.
- Anyone who wants to quickly adjust details and fix topology without extra manual movement.
Benefits:
- Saves time and increases convenience while modeling.
- Full control over mesh topology.
- Simple and intuitive interface.
